How Do Mushrooms Grow?

During our first episode with Alex Chamizo, we talked about the remarkable properties of functional mushrooms.

Alex said there are different kinds of mushrooms that have properties that can help our bodies.

He told me about how cordyceps help oxygenate our blood cells.

Alex also mentioned that Lion's Mane looked like a brain and that helps with our neurons and brain growth. There are different types of mushrooms that help with our body and health in unique ways.

They are magical, but they do not make you hallucinate. You can still go to work, and you can drink these mushrooms!

Taking these mushrooms every day befor work can give us a little boost.

Our conversation inspired me to investigate further…

How Do Mushrooms Grow in Nature?

What is their primary process?

The more giant the mushroom, the longer it takes to grow.

Mushrooms are in the fungal kingdom. Mushrooms don’t need light to grow; Instead, they break down organic material and extract the nutrients of decaying matter while cleaning up our environments and providing nutritious food!

Mushrooms release spores when they reach full maturity.

The gills release the spores when they’re ready to expand their terrain. The gills are located under the mushroom cap. This allows the spores to travel beyond their fruiting body.

When the spores germinate, they become hyphae.

Hyphae can be either male or female. Therefore, we can compare the hyphae to Hyploids in human cells.

However, they must link up by gender to be complete.

Once the hyphae pair up, they are considered mycelium; they go from hyphal knots to pinheads.

Pinheads are considered baby mushrooms.

The iconic cap of the mushroom is the fruiting body of the mushroom. The root is Mycelium. When the Mycelium picks up nutrients and pushes them towards the surface of the earth, it sprouts into a pinhead.

This stage is where the mushroom begins to sprout from the ground.

As it matures, it will become its iconic mushroom fruiting body. Then, when theyre environment calls for it, they are free to start the cycle again;

Or until we pick them up!
